That was the advice from Ania Jefferies at yesterday’s wellbeing retreat. We all feel uncomfortable and procrastinate about the things we know will benefit us, so before you let your inner chatter take over just count backwards from 5 and commit to taking action before you get to 1!
14 women and 1 very brave man joined us yesterday at Kingdom in Penshurst for our latest wellbeing retreat. This time the theme was enhancing self-belief and confidence! I keep joking with people that it’s always sunny at Kingdom and yesterday was no exception!
We started the day with a Nature-Fit class where we combine play, technique work and a timed partner based circuit to ensure all ages and abilities endure a great workout whilst enjoying the benefits of being active outside. When I say all ages, I really mean all ages! Yesterday our youngest attendee was 19 and our oldest was 69!
The rest of the day followed our usual retreat format; At 11.30am the group experienced Yoga delivered by Alice from the talented Kingdom Yoga team. By 12.30 Kingdom Cafe’s incredible chorizo tomato and red pepper stew with a potato rosti and two poached eggs was a welcomed sight!
Following lunch, Louise and I did a short talk on nutrition to clear up any mixed messages from the conflicting world of ‘dieting’ (suggested reading: Nutrients vs Calories) before we headed out on a woodland walk to aid our digestion!
We returned to the studio to enjoy a delicious superfood green shake from Kingdom Cafe before Ania shared her journey and tips on self-belief and confidence in an enlightening afternoon workshop.
What better way to enjoy a Sunday than eating real-food, enjoying outdoor movement and connecting with like-minded people! We’re back on the 24th of February for our next retreat, helping 0-10km runners learn the secrets behind running! This retreat is for complete beginners as well as runners who want to learn how to run, fuel and rest more efficiently so they can avoid injury and make running fun again!
