Meet January’s Client of the month Maya Basu. Maya is a highly successful career driven gynecologist who works long hours in the NHS. She was referred to DayOne Wellness through another client in the summer of 2016 but felt she was simply too busy to start right away. Unfortunately, by the time winter rolled around nothing had changed and Maya felt her health was spiraling in the wrong direction, so she finally decided it was now or never and we’re so glad she chose NOW!
Three months later and 10 sessions into our signature 12 week programme – Maya’s progress has been incredible to witness.
“When Pip and I sat down at the beginning of the 12 week programme, she asked me what I wanted to achieve. It was hard to define – I think I mumbled something about just being more healthy, but wasn’t really able to articulate much beyond that even using medical jargon! I had been feeling for a long time that I just didn’t feel particularly good in terms of fitness, strength and general resilience and I had heard brilliant things about DayOne Wellness and the 12 week programme from my friend who had come out the other side. 10 weeks on, and I feel like a different person! I am actually really enjoying exercise now- which is something I never ever thought I would say. I feel stronger that I ever have and I’m also noticing that I am losing buy valium weight and changing my body shape. I’m ashamed to say that doctors don’t get much training on nutrition so with Pip’s help I’ve changed what I eat on a daily basis, and am even enjoying that! More importantly for me, I feel like I’ve got that spring in my step back and am so much more resilient that I was before. This has been basically life changing for me and I’m so grateful to Pip for giving me the confidence to push myself beyond my comfort zone. My new motto is- BRING IT ON!!”
Maya, you are our January client of the month because, even with Christmas in the middle – you’ve embraced every; cornerstone, progress task and workout. You consistently give 110% in everything you do and it’s been inspiring to watch your energy levels, fitness, confidence and general zest for life go through the roof. You are living proof that no-one is ever too busy to prioritise their own health (because your schedule is mental – and shows no sign of slowing down!) But at least now, you’re operating from your overflow – rather than your reserve tank!
