She’s done it again!
Back in May 2106, we announced Mandy Marshall as our member of the month (you can read that post here), since then she has completely embodied the DayOne ethos of; educate yourself, empower others and exceed together so she pipped our other members to the title again! It’s clearly working because she seems to be getting younger!
Mandy Says: I was first introduced to DayOne Wellness at a Nature Fit Bootcamp in January 2016. I decided I needed more support so I signed up to 1:1 coaching with Pip in March 2016 and saw my life change in ways I never thought possible. I changed the way I ate, slept, relaxed and exercise. I just wanted to be a little bit fitter and healthier and to make my trousers fit! Not only did this happen but I had to get new clothes as the old ones quickly became too big. I thought at the beginning that the challenge would be huge but actually, I was amazed at how easy the transformation was when you have the right information to support you.
After the initial 12-week programme finished, I could run 5k without stopping and I was actually enjoying the exercises Pip had given me. For the first time ever, I was motivated to eat the right foods, write in a daily journal, meditate when I needed to and the habit’s I’ve made feel totally sustainable.
Unfortunately, life always has a way of shaking things up. Following a bereavement, in March 2017 I felt very out of control around food, exercise and just life in general but Pip helped me through this with her no-nonsense approach to everything and her
fabulous saying… Be kind to yourself!! In June 2017 I met Penny, a new addition to the D1 team who took over the Nature Fit classes from Pip, this was the beginning of a new relationship with a new trainer as Penny was to go on to take over some
of Pip’s 1-1 clients. Since September, Penny has been overseeing the next phase of my transformation helping me to build muscles I never knew I had!
I am so grateful to Penny for the amount of time and effort she’s spent helping me achieve my first 10K in October and the encouragement to do another one in February. I have definitely got more definition in my shoulders that was not there before and never thought I could lift the amount of weights that we do in our sessions. I have progressed so much I surprise myself with what I am able
to achieve. I am now aiming for the next 10K, then who knows what Penny will persuade me to do!! I have had the most emotional year but I could not have got through this without the support of Pip and Penny and will be forever grateful to the DayOne Wellness team and their wonderful philosophy.
Since meeting Mandy In June I have seen her grow in strength, stamina and emotional resilience. Her dedication has even inspired her husband Stuart to follow in her footsteps as her completed his first Park run at the end of last year. Since Mandy wrote the above paragraph she has successfully completed the 10K London Winter Run something 6 months ago she thought she would never achieve. Mandy is a pleasure to coach, she excels herself in every session and I am looking forward to her confidence and smile get bigger and bigger as she achieves her next milestone.
Well done Mandy you are an inspiration to so many!
